Moominworld is a theme park founded in 1993 on the west coast of Finland, whose central theme is the mummies. The park is located in the town of Naantali, on the island of Kailo. You can only get to Moomin World on foot. A 250 meter long bridge leads to the island from the old town of Naantali.
Sights of the island are for example the Moomin House, the Emma Theatre and the Fairy Tale Trail. In the theme park you can also meet characters from the Moomin stories. Moominworld is only open in the summer months. But in February, a one-week winter carnival takes place.
Because of the covid-19 pandemic the park was closed and will only open again in June, when I am already back in Germany, I could not visit it from inside.
However, I have seen the park and the bridge that leads to the park and was able to look at the park from the outside.
You should definitely come and see it, because the muumins are very popular here in Finland and there is a lot of merchandise sold in every market. It seems to be like the mascot of Finland.
