The cutest activity must be our trip to the Levi Husky farm in Köngäs!
For that we drove a short while of about 2h.
First we got a guided tour through the farm and had a look at all the huskies as well as the wolves, foxes and reindeers they keep. We were allowed to pet and play with the dogs, which are running free in the farm and the huskies on the sleighs.
It was not allowed to put your hands into the cages of the puppies as well as foxes and wolves, because on the one hand it is of course dangerous and on the other hand the husky puppies are not yet trained and grab the gloves right away and do not give them back. So many gloves were already stolen and did not come back to the owner, because the little puppies like to play with them. The glove of my room mate was also about to be stolen, but together we managed to save it from the mouth of the puppy, a funny memory.
We were also introduced to Tiger, the kissing reindeer. Tiger is an independent movie star who likes to eat gingerbread. When you put it in your mouth, it takes it gently from you like a big kiss. It was really wonderful to be so close to such a majestic animal. We were allowed to pet them as well, a wonderful experience.
A perfect trip for all dog and animal lovers . After our tour we were put into the sleds, my roommate and I were in a sleigh with seven huskies. A very nice and unique experience. We turned a round of about 2 km which flew away quite fast, because the dogs are very fast and pull strongly on the carriage. It was beautiful to drive through the snow covered forest with the sleigh and enjoy the view.
You should definitely visit the Husky Farm if you go on a trip to Lappland.
